Port Cheese Assortment (30 ounce) Port is the world's greatest fortified wine, produced in the valley of the Duoro River, East of Oporto in Northern Portugal. Port falls into two broad categories: ruby ports, characterized by intense, red fruit and berry flavors; and tawny ports, distinguished by their mellow, nutty, butterscotch and caramel essences. We have selected four cheeses that will complement both types. Fourme D'Ambert: Cave-aged for a minimum of two months, Fourme d'Ambert is made from raw cow's milk and has a tremendous, creamy, full-bodied flavor. Imported from France. (7.5 oz) Blue Stilton:Characterized by its typical blue veining with rich complex flavours and a piquant finish. To be called "The King of Cheeses" a Stilton must be made only in three counties from local milk which is pasteurized before use, be made only in the traditional cylindrical shape, be allowed to form its own crust or coat, be unpressed, have delicate blue veins radiating from the center and have a taste profile typical of Stilton.(7.5 oz) Wexford Mature Cheddar: This Irish Cheddar from Wexford brings together the finest milk along with expert aging techniques. The company's heritage of cheese making and its time tested recipe produces a cheddar of unmistakable quality and character. (7.5 oz) Agour Ossau-Iraty: A slightly oily texture gives way to a creamy, buttery quality in the mouth, with hints of herbs and fruit.(7.5 oz) Port not included.
