Great as a sole leaf litter Sea Grape leaves look even better when mixed with either Live Oak Leaves or Magnolia Leaves in a naturalistic vivarium. Sea Grape Leaves break down over a longer period of time than some other forms of leaf litter and seem to lead to an increased abundance of isopods and springtails when used in a naturalistic vivarium. Sea Grape Leaves are fairly large and provide a lot of hiding spots and visual barriers in your vivarium. The size of these leaves also make for a great decorative accent in larger terrariums! Leaf Litter performs a very important role in a naturalistic vivarium. Leaf Litter provides shelter visual barriers and hiding places for the vivarium inhabitants such as poison dart frogs. Mimicking the role of dead plant matter in the rainforest Leaf Litter also put nutrients back into the environment providing the stuff plants and microfauna need to thrive! Although our leaves are collected in a pesticide and herbicide free environment many choose to further treat vivarium decor.
