Arhoolie Records was the first major label to record and sell Cajun music on a national level. Among the many Cajun musicians and bands it recorded were the legendary Hackberry Ramblers Michael Doucet with his band Beausoliel and as solo performers Nathan Abshire Dewey Balfa Marc Savoy and Canray Fontenot.
